Kioloa Coastal Campus is the Australian national University's coastal field station. Owner Builder
Jan 2016 - Sep 2018

Wanting to be surrounded by nature and become as self-sufficient as possible, my partner and I moved to rural New South Wales. Since we have moved we have been building a house and workshop and setting up a mixed orchard and vegetable garden. Farm animals are yet to come!

Sydney Institute of Marine Science
Community Outreach Coordinator

Aug 2012 - Dec 2015

The Sydney Institute of Marine Science (SIMS) is a multidisciplinary marine science institute located at beautiful Sydney Harbour, Australia. My key responsibility was the development of a diverse and engaging outreach program for a range of audiences and target groups featuring SIMS research.

Highlights included:

  • Development and delivery of hands-on primary and high school student programs involving real-life scientific experiments and scientific inquiry.

  • Community engagement through initiatives such as harbour cruises and foreshore walks.

  • Creation of Institute’s marine discovery centre featuring vibrant interactive displays.

Postgraduate Program Development Coordinator (part-time)

Apr 2010 - Aug 2012

SIMS provides a focal point for collaborative marine research and research training and teaching in the marine sciences. To that effect I developed and established a cross-institutional master’s program in marine science and management for four partner universities (USYD, UTS, UNSW, Macquarie University).
